MICRONEEDLING

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a skincare treatment where a device with very tiny needles creates controlled micro-injures in the skin. This triggers your body’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production, which helps improve texture, reduce acne scars, minimize pores, and smooth fine lines.

Am I a good candidate for Microneedling?

The ideal candidate for Microneedling is someone looking to improve overall skin texture and mild concerns like acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, or uneven tone. It works best if your skin is generally healthy and not actively inflamed. People with active acne, infections, or certain conditions like eczema or rosacea may need to avoid it or wait until their skin is calmer, since microneedling can worsen irritation.

Is the treatment safe?

This treatment is safe when performed by a properly trained skincare professional. There is minmial downtime. Skin is typically red and slightly swollen for 24-72 hours, similar to a mild sunburn, and may feel dry or tight as it heals.

How is Microneedling different from other treatments?

Microneedling creates tiny contorlled “injuries” in the skin to boost collagen and improve texture over time.

Other treatments differ because they don’t use needles some use chemicals (like peels), heat or light (like lasers), or exfoliation to resurface the skin instead of triggering healing through micro-injuries.

What is the difference between Microneedling and a Chemical Peel?

A comparable treatment to microneedling is a chemical peel. Both improve skin texture, tone, and overall smoothness, but they work differently. Microneedling uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production from deeper within the skin, making it better for things like acne scars and firmess. A chemical peel uses acids to exfoliate and remove the outer layer of skin, helping more with surface concerns like dullness, uneven tone, and mild texture issues.

How long is the treatment?

A microneedling session usually takes about 30-60 minutes, and with numbing cream (optional) the full appointment can be around 1 to 1.5 hours. Most people also need a series of at least 3 sessions (sometimes 3-6) spaced 4-6 weeks apart to see noticeable, longer-lasting results because collagen builds gradually over time.

You may notice an initial glow within a few days, but more noticeable improvements in texture, scars, and tone typically develop over 4-6 weeks as collagen production increases.

What areas can be treated with Microneedling?

Microneedling is most commonly done on the face but can also treat the neck, chest, and areas of the body with texture concerns, scars, or stretch marks.

What is the aftercare like?

After treatmeant, its important to keep skin clean, avoid makeup for 24 hours, avoid direct sun exposure, and use gentle, hydrating skincare while the skin heals.

How long do Microneedling results last?

Results can last several months, especially after a full series of treatments. Maintenance sessions every 6-12 months are often recommended to maintain collagen and skin quality.
